An ode to a wandering bard

He sat down at the rim of the fountain not a care in the world, a loner with the only aim of being transported to a different world. Chin down , the scroll resting on his palm, he waited a few minutes , cleared his mind , filling every fiber of his being with tranquility. He went blank for a moment and he knew the time had arrived.

The street was busy with activity ,even then they could feel the augury . They looked around for the harbringer, but it would not be long before they could spot him out.

He raised his bow like a magician would raise his wand and the moment it touched the strings, time stood still. The only movements were those of his fingers on the strings and even those were suttle. The notes flowed from his red violin to the hearts of the on lookers creating such an atmosphere that one could not breathe.

As the notes reached their high’s and low’s , the audience could not help but feel their heart swell with an unknown emotion. An emotion creating havoc in their hearts yet instilling a peace in their minds. They felt alight although they were weighed down by the melancholy.

Not a care in the world he played on , enchanting all. Lifting his spirits high onto heaven and above. He swayed along with the wind, feeling the sweet breeze in his hair, his fingers playing eccentric notes ,inspiring him beyond his imagination.

All they could do was watch him as the music tugged their hearts and touched their souls.

Suddenly the music came to an end and he walked away like a free man unknown to the fact that he had imprisoned all with the magic of his violin. As he slowly walked away , he dint notice the street which was filled with pin drop silence and neither did he notice that he had left everyone with tears in their eyes.
